Best of Beauty 2013
This is a youtube tag going around but I thought I would share on my blog. I know that this is really really late but I have been trying some new things lately but these are my overall whole year favorites.
Makeup Forever Mist & Fix: Silicone primers break me out but this is a setting spray without silicone and it helps get rid of the powdery look while not looking matte or dewy. It can also be used before makeup to help setting power as well.
Revlon Colorstay: (Oily/Combo): I prefer this sooo much to the covergirl outlast. This lasts so much longer and covers more.
L'oreal True Match Crayon Concealer: I have still not found a holy grail concealer but this is pretty good. I can use this under my eyes, face, and for a slight highlight. It can get a bit cakey on blemishes but works well for under eyes.
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder: I used this most of the year and this is my second one. It can be a little too mattifying but it does provide a little extra coverage.
Elf Baked Blush in Peachy Cheeky : This I probably used the most the label is all worn off. I also love and have been using the regular line blush in Mellow Mauve both are only $3 each. This one provides more of a glow rather than a flush.
Maybelline Instand Age Rewind & Benifit High Beam: These are my highlighting favorites. For a more concealer type highlighter I have been using my Maybelline. But a plain pinky glowy highlight I like is my sample of Highbeam which has lasted soo long.
Spoolie: I don't do anything with my eyebrows other than combing through with a spoolie. For a while I used a clear brow gel but I didn't like the effect.
Smashbox Wondervision Mega Palette: As much as I love Urban Decay I feel this is more versitile and it includes face products as well.
Elf Coffee Gel Eyeliner, Stila sparkle liner in Flash, and Maybelline Golden Halo eyeshadow: The elf is my favorite gel eyeliner it doesn't claim to be waterproof but it lasts all day long. My stila is my favorite liquid liner since I do not wear liquid liner everyday, and it is waterproof and complements green brown eyes very well. And my favorite single eyeshadow and eyeliner color is the golden halo. It is so vibrant and a true gold!
Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara: This didn't smudge, flake, or loose my curl. It cave my a slight curl and and didn't clump up.
Jordana Twist & Shine + Revlon Balm Stain: I love these way more than lipsticks since they last all day with eating. They hardly transfer and leave a glossy finish.
Charlotte Ronson (Sephora limited Edition) & Ulta Super Shiny Gloss: The charlotte ronson ones were LE but I had to mention them since they were amazing. And I also love the Ulta ones since they feel weightless and not sticky at all. They do smell a little weird but the formula is worth it.
Mac lipsticks are a classic, and for me this one is a must have. Mac has raised the prices of their lipsticks overtime, and currently cost $17. They have a variety of finishes, and this one is a satin finish. "Pale muted pinky- beige" according to mac Pulls more peach on me Can be worn alone, mixed to lighten, or in the center of lips to highlight I love this lipstick even alone, but I know not everyone would like this Screenshot from my latest video about some of my favorite lipsticks Not as dry as a mac matte, but still enough so that it wears a long time Can be built up or worn less intense Overall, Not every person nor every skintone can pull this color off, but personally I like it. On me, it's slightly a "concealer lips" color, but that shade is the look some desire. The formula is also very nice, if I wore this more I would try to find a dupe. There may be some listed online in-case the price does not seem reasonabl
I just uploaded my monthly favorites video, so I thought I would do my full review on one of the products mentioned. This post is a review on Colourpop's Oh Snap Lippie Stix + Lippie pencil, they retail for only $5 each on the Colourpop website . These launched as part of the fall line, but will be limited edition in the long run. Oh Snap Lippie Stix + Lippie Pencil Oh Snap Lippie Stix Oh Snap Lippie Stix Oh Snap Lippie Pencil Oh Snap Lippie Pencil Oh Snap Lippie Stix, Oh Snap Lippie Pencil Oh Snap Lippie Stix Oh Snap Lippie Pencil The matching pencil is a little less warm, and lighter Almost identical though When worn together they last all day no touch ups When just the lippie stix it wears more like 5-6 average wear Lippie Pencil can be worn with other lip products on top Perfect nude lip liner Lippie Stix can also be worn with other lip products Could use as a center of lip highlight on top of darker lip Worn this way in one
There are many contour options from single shades, palettes, powder, cream, but rarely do they cater to fair skin tones. This cream contour palette is in the shade fair, retailing for $40. There are three highlight shades in the top row, and three contours in the lower row. Cruelty free Sleek packaging After watching With flash No flash For a video demo: https://youtu.be/jXuu8vNIljs The consistency is creamy but on the drier side Can mix with a facial oil if desired Still blends out very easily on its own I usually apply with my fingertips to desired areas and then blend out with a beauty blender Soft Light is a more peachy pink "pale peach" toned concealer / highlight Lustre is an iridescent clear shimmer "sheer porcelain" Not my favorite shade since it is not intense enough as a highlight and the product still needs to be set in place Fair is more yellow toned "pure sand" and is concealer toned on my skin F
