Lorac Unzipped Gold Eyeshadow Palette: Review & Swatches
I personally was disappointed with the original Lorac Unzipped, and did not have high hopes for this one. I ordered it online, on a whim. After owning this for a few months...I couldn't be happier! It retails for $42, which isn't terrible for a palette.
Comes with a deluxe size of the Lorac eyeshadow primer
4 mattes, one sparkle, and 5 ultra metallic
A pale matte cream shade,
looks pinker in the pan then swatched
A light metallic warm pink,
shifts gold (looks lighter under direct light)
An intense metallic rose gold,
pink base with gold shimmer
Matte warm brown,
swatches worse than it goes on the eyes
Darker matte cocoa
Metallic pale yellow gold,
slightly chunky shimmer
Closest to a true metallic gold
SUPER intense metallic copper bronze
Cool matte brown,
swatches sheerer than on eyes
Matte dark brown, with multicolor glitter/shimmer
- Does not spark an enormous number of ideas for looks
- High quality shades, different formula than the pro palettes
- The metallic shadows are like foiled eyeshadows or pressed pigments
- The two lighter matte browns can be used as face contours
- The white gold shadow can be used as an intense facial highlight
- The mattes are smooth, but seem a little hard packed into the pan
- Not a very gold palette, has variety
- Did individual swatches to show up close looks at the shadows
- Blend easily, and smoothly
- Packaging is sleek, and portable
Overall,
If you don't mind one slightly chunky shadow, and want a mix of ultra metallic and matte--then this palette is for you! At first I was slighly underwhelmed, but have grown to love it more. It has a matte brownbone/all over the lid shade; this is something that bothers me if not included in a palette. You have multiple options for the crease, even though a slightly lighter brown would have been nice. If you are ever in an ulta, or someplace that sells Lorac, swatch this palette (especially unleashed)!
